Info zu Chanson et Danses

Flutist, composer, and teacher Paul Taffanel (1844-1908) was to have a decisive influence on the development of chamber music for winds in France. While his work as a flutist and educator can in no way be undervalued, Taffanel’s musical career extended far beyond this. He was also a renowned composer and conductor, and had considerable entrepreneurial talent. In 1879 he founded the Société de musique de chambre pour instruments à vent (Society of Chamber Music for Wind Instruments). The organization’s objective was to expand and promote chamber music repertoire for winds.

Taffanel took the classic octet as his starting point, the orchestration that had given rise to the Harmonie music of Mozart and Beethoven’s time, but the society also aimed to profile soloists and bring new French and foreign works to light.

On this recording, the Oslo Kammerakademi performs chamber works for winds by composers Charles Gounod, Charles Koechlin, Florent Schmitt, Théodore Gouvy, and Vincent d’Indy, several of which were composed for the Société de musique de chambre pour instruments à vent.

Die Kammerakademie Oslo (Kammerakademi)
spielt Kammermusik für Bläser mit der historischen Harmoniebesetzung als Kernbesetzung, und der Solo-Oboist der Osloer Philharmoniker David Friedemann Strunck ist ihr Initiator und künstlerischer Leiter. Das Ensemble hat sich im Laufe seiner kurzen Lebenszeit zu einem der führenden in Europa etabliert, mit von Kritikern glänzend besprochenen CD Einspielungen und Einladungen und Wiedereinladungen zu international anerkannten Festivals wie dem Rheingau Musikfestival, dem Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, den Glogerfestspielen in Kongsberg, dem «Summerwinds» Holzbläserfestival Münsterland, dem Fartein Valen Festival, dem Trondheim Kammermusik Festival, dem Stavanger Kammermusikfestival, der Valdres Sommesymfoni u.a.

Die Kammerakademie Oslo benutzt historische Blechblasinstrumente bei barockem, klassischem und romantischem Repertoire. Dies prägt den authentischen Klang des Ensembles und die historisch orientierte Aufführungspraxis.

Seit seinem Debut im Jahr 2009 verfolgt das Ensemble das Ziel, den gesamten Umfang des Repertoires für Harmoniemusikensemble zu spielen – von den Anfängen in Wien in den 1780er Jahren bis zur Musik unserer Zeit. Das Ensemble hat die Werke Die letzten Tage des Sultans Selim III. von Mert Karabey 2011, the first beauty von Magnar Åm 2012, Retour á la Nature von Ketil Hvoslef 2015, G8 von Trygve Brøske 2016, The Silk Road von Gisle Kverndokk 2017 und Westward bound von Morten Gaathaug 2019 uraufgeführt.

Die Kammerakademie Oslo spielt regelmäßig Konzerte in der norwegischen Oper in Oslo. Im Jahr 2019 feierte das Ensemble sein 10-jähriges Jubiläum mit einer Tournee nach Deutschland und einem gebührenden Festkonzert. 2019 konnte das Ensemble auch ein eigenes Festival in Ski/Akershus etablieren: SKI GARTENFESTIVAL – klassische Musik im Grünen.
