Info for Stànzia
The title "Stànzia" is an imperative term borrowed from the Old Latin language. It means "stop".
Stànzia is a project that thoroughly explores the intimate dimension of the duo, enriched in some moments by the precious collaboration of Camilla Battaglia.
A recording that is the result of reflections originating from the condition of constraint in a place of our recent present (Covid), where in the impossibility of movement one tries to escape with fantasy and imagination. The result is of considerable impact and suggestion. The work sees protagonists Filippo Macchiarelli, by now imposed on the national scene both as an extraordinary artistic and instrumental talent (a true virtuoso on the bass ); the pianist Tommaso Sgammini, gifted with an excellent compositional vein and stylistic modernity; and with the support in some pieces of the splendid warm and expressive voice of Camilla Battaglia, another acclaimed resource of our fluid italian jazz scene. A recording of great depth and artistic tenor.
