„Want You Back“ ist ein Vorbote, der Großes in Aussicht stellt, ein Sommerhit im besten Sinne, ein Lied, in dem man immer wieder neues entdeckt. Wie schön da der Bass slappt! Diese Kopfstimme im Hintergrund! Und waren das gerade Handclaps?

Die drei Schwestern Danielle, Alana und Este Haim kamen 2012 wie aus dem Nichts, im Gepäck ihren Hit „Forever“. Ein Wahnsinnssong, in dessen Video Jungs auf schweren Motorrädern unter der kalifornischen Sonne Kreise auf den Asphalt malten, während die Mädchen im Wohnzimmer von der Liebe erzählten. Der Song kapitulierte die Band auf die „Sound Of 2013“-Liste der BBC, das weltweit wichtigste Trendbarometer im Pop-Business. Ein Jahr später folgte mit Days Are Gone das Debütalbum, das smart sein ganz eigenes Revier absteckte und Haim als wandlungsfähige Künstlerinnen zeigte, die Popmusik spielten, die oft an die Großen der 70er- und 80er-Jahre erinnerte; an Fleetwood Mac, an Madonna, an die Bangles - aber aus alldem einen ganz eigenen, sofort wiedererkennbaren und sehr gegenwärtig produzierten Sound destillierte. Das Album erntete euphorische Kritiken, verkaufte über eine Million Exemplare, schoss in Großbritannien sofort an die Spitze der Hitparaden und landete weltweit in den Jahresbestenlisten der Musikpresse.

Für Something To Tell You arbeiteten die HAIM-Schwestern erneut mit Produzent Ariel Rechtshaid zusammen, auch Rostam Batamanglij (Vampire Weekend) holten sie mit ins Boot. Es ist ein großes Glück, dass diese drei Schwestern zurück sind. Wir freuen uns auf einen Sommer mit Haim - sie spielen diesen Sommer auf diversen Festivals wie dem Glastonbury in England, dem Reading & Leeds Festival, dem Splendour in the Grass Festival in Australien und dem Lost Lake Festival in Arizona.

HAIM
Hailing from the San Fernando Valley, HAIM consists of, "Three sisters, and a mister" that has been shaking things up in the city of Los Angeles for the past four years. It is truly a family affair for the band which prides themselves on being able to switch from instrument to instrument with complete confidence and ease, and all while singing in three part harmony. The sisters, Este, Danielle, and Alana, grew up playing classic rock songs with their parents in a family band, called "Rockinhaim," which played for charity events and street fairs. After years of playing with their parents, the girls decided to strike out on their own, and began writing their own material. Este, the eldest of the three, plays bass guitar and found time in between touring to graduate from UCLA with a degree in Music. Danielle, the 22 year old lead guitar player, who previously toured with Jenny Lewis, Ceelo Green, and Julian Casablancas. Alana, the youngest in the band, plays rhythm guitar, keyboard, and percussion. Rounding out the group is Dash Hutton, who previously played drums for LA bands Wires on Fire and Slang Chickens. Over the past few years, the band has opened up for Julian Casablancas, Cold War Kids, Ke$ha, Group Love, No Age, The Bird and the Bee, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Chief and The Henry Clay People. In February 2012, HAIM released a three song EP titled Forever.
