The quarantine time was long for the musicians, deprived of concerts. We know that Laurent Bardainne is not only a talented jazzman but we sometimes forget that he masters machines and has a long electronic past with his band Poni Hoax.

So Laurent used his free time to revisit the tracks of his project TIGRE D'EAU DOUCE. The result is 3 "auto-remixes" with various atmospheres, from the electro trance of "Kinshasa" to the childish tinkering of "Bachibouzouk" and the hip hop version of "Porsche 944" with the voices of some artists / actors who disappeared during this quarantine period. As a bonus, his keyboard partner, Arnaud Roullin, revisited in solo piano mode the track "Le vent, les arbres les oiseaux m'encouragent". Simply beautiful.

Musician, composer, bandleader and musical Rubik's Cube, Laurent Bardainne is a saxophonist who trained at The Paris Conservatory. He's collaborated with Pharrell Williams, Cassius and Philippe Katerine to name just a few and presents here his latest project, 'Tigre d'eau Douce'.

Bardainne is also co-founder of electro rock band Poni Hoax (Tigersushi Records), Limousine, a duet with Camélia Jordana and more recently Sabrina & Samantha for Ed Banger.

This album, sees a return to his first love of jazz. The Tigre d'eau Douce, represents a species doomed to disappear. So using melodies, chants and solos as an escape guide, his tenor saxophone takes us to a higher place, one where John Coltrane and the great figures of jazz reside.
