'Stone In The Water” ist das erste ECM-Album des “dänischen Trios”, mit dem der brillante italienische Pianist Stefano Bollani nun schon seit sechs Jahren intensiv zusammenarbeitet. Bollanis Partner, Bassist Jesper Bodilsen und Schlagzeuger Morten Lund, sind ein seit bereits fünfzehn Jahren eingespieltes Rhythmusgespann, das zahlreiche dänische und internationale Jazzgrößen begleitete. Während das Trio auf seinen beiden ersten Alben “Mi Ritorni In Mente” (2003) und “Gleda” (2005) amerikanische Jazzstandards, traditionelle italienische und skandinavische Lieder interpretierte, bietet es auf “Stone In The Water” ein faszinierend abwechslungsreiches Programm, das neben Originalen aus den Federn von Bollani und Bodilsen auch brasilianische Balladen von Caetano Veloso (“Dom de iludir”) und Antônio Carlos Jobim (“Brigas nunca mais”) sowie Francis Poulencs “Improvisation 13 en la mineur” enthält.
