Frank Zappa's Doppel-Live-Album "Tinsel Town Rebellion" von 1981 enthält ein Potpourri alter und neuer Songs. Oldies wie "Love of My Life", "I Ain't Got No Heart", "Tell Me You Love Me", "Brown Shoes Don't Make It", ebenso eine Neufassung von "Peaches en Regalia" treffen hier auf den fürs Album produzierten Titelsong "Tinsel Town Rebellion": Zappas satirischer Abrechnung mit der Punk-Bewegung.
Eingespielt mit einer Super-Band, darunter Schlagzeuger Vinnie Colaiuta (Sting, Herbie Hancock, Megadeth u. v.a.), strotzt "Tinsel Town Rebellion" nur so vor instrumentaler Highlights. Hit des Albums sind ist Zappas notorischer "Panty Rap", ein rasanter Funk-Kracher, auf dem er live seine weiblichen Fans dazu auffordert, ihre Schlüpfer auf die Bühne zu werfen.
