Info for Paris to Nueva York
Founded in 2006, Setenta, the Latin soul band from Paris, spreads a unique mix over the world scene. Following their sparkling 2010 debut, Funky Tumbao (Hot Casa Records), their 2013 follow-up, Latin Piece of Soul (HC 025CD/LP), and successful live experiences that have developed strong ties to New York, the French seven-pieces combo is back with a modern definition of Latin music. Latin soul legend Joe Bataan, with whom Setenta collaborated at Les Étoiles theater in Paris, and JazzMix in Vienne in 2015, joins the group here on "My Rainbow," a rare soulful bolero with spiritual lyrics written by the godfather. Composed collectively, this album mixes Latin, soul, hip hop, funk, modern jazz, psychedelic boogaloo, and more, with strong percussive and vocal sections and lyrics in Spanish, English, Creole, Yoruba, and French. Setenta spreads love, peace, and positive energy all over the world, from Paris to Nueva York.

Setenta
The Paris-based seven-piece combo has been performing their unique Latin soul music since 2006. A combination of funk, jazz, soul, and of course Latin music, the group mixes languages as much as they do genres, with songs in Spanish, English, Creole, Yoruba, and French. Their latest album ‘Paris to Nueva York’ features Latin soul singer Joe Bataan, who has joined them onstage during their recent performances in Paris.
In 2006, Osman Jr wanted to bring nuyoriacan salsa sound into funk universe like it was done during the 70’s decade, wanting to break the academic rules and perpetuate the meeting between the latin clave and the funky beat. He reunited the best friends musicians around him to build that real band project. The common link was their love for Jazz, Latin Funk, Soul & Hip Hop music. After some successful live exhibitions where they tooked on puertorican maestros Tite Curet Alonso and Cheo Feliciano, they decided to work on original latin funk fusion recording sessions, with their friend Julien Lebrun (DJ/Producer) and Hot Casa record.
After a sparkling debut with their first albums “Funky Tumbao” (Hot Casa Records/Fat Beats 2010) and "Latin Piece Of Soul" (Hot Casa Records/ The Pusher/Forced Exposure 2013), after successful live experiences (1) and strong links developed with New York, the french seven-piece combo is back in April 2016 with a modern definition of latin music on LATIN BIG NOTE Records. Following their oustanding live collaboration at "Théâtre Les Etoiles" in Paris, and "Jazz Mix de Vienne" in June 2015, they invite Joe BATAAN, the latin soul legend, to record "My Rainbow", a rare bolero, soulful, with spiritual lyrics written by the godfather, maybe a new classic ballad for the history.
Composed collectively, this album mixes up Latin, Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk, modern Jazz, or Psychedelic Boogaloo, with a percussive and strong vocal section, sung in spanish, english, creole, yoruba and french, for the first time in their repertoire, with the "easy to sing and dance" "Madame Shingaling". SETENTA, The Latin Soul Band from Paris, spreads love, peace and positive live energy all over the world, from "Paris to Nueva York".
